About Vast-Goed
Every day, countless organizations and volunteers dedicate themselves to their projects, making an indispensable contribution to society. However, they often face the same obstacles: a lack of affordable space, administrative support, and connections with partners or policymakers.
With the Vast-Goed model, Beweging.net Antwerp takes on this supporting role. We act as a matchmaker, connecting organizations, local residents, and policymakers. By opening up vacant or underutilized properties, we create affordable and shared spaces that serve as catalysts for collaboration and neighborhood integration.
Our approach goes beyond simply providing space. We also provide process management, stimulate cooperation, and help making clear agreements that make buildings sustainable and future-oriented. That always within a value framework of inclusion, fairness, sustainability, and solidarity.
In this way, together we turn a shortage of resources into a source of new opportunities and give communities the conditions to truly grow.
Read below which principles we use for this.
More than sharing space
Vast-Goed encompasses more than simply sharing space. We always base our approach on a few fundamental principles that we strive to implement at every location, in collaboration with our users:

-
Shared ownership: Everyone who uses a building experiences a sense of co-ownership. This means enjoying the benefits of shared use while also sharing responsibility when opportunities, challenges, or problems arise.

-
Shared responsibility : We encourage users to always consider first what responsibility they can take. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? We'd love to hear them.

-
Shared values: Users share common beliefs and principles, such as social justice, sustainability, inclusivity, and solidarity. These principles always play a key role when a decision needs to be made.

-
Neighborhood Involvement : We value neighborhood involvement and regularly organize community-focused activities. Users of our locations actively participate in these activities.
